What We Offer
Beds
There are 47 beds with five private isolation rooms. The goal is to keep rooms private unless the census requires using them as semiprivate. They are distributed as follows:
- 32 Medical Surgical Beds
- 8 Critical Care Beds
- 7 Correctional Treatment Beds
Meditation Room
This room provides an area for quiet reflection with seating, a kneeler and serene artwork. It is located on the second floor of the hospital across from the Critical Care Unit.
Consultation Rooms
Consultation rooms are located on the second floor in the center of the Medical Surgical Unit and in the Emergency Department waiting room. Same Day Surgery has an office adjacent to their waiting room that also serves as a consultation room.
Patient Education
Professional staff provides patient and family education. A wide variety of printed materials are available on each unit. In addition, the Health Education Resource Center, located on the first floor of the Medical Office Building, provides a variety of health education materials.
Emergency Department
The Emergency Department has two trauma beds, three minor treatment beds, a woman's examination room, an isolation room and two private procedure rooms.
Escort Services
Volunteers, patient area staff and service department staff provide patient transport/escort services.
Family Accommodations
In addition to the comfortable waiting areas, a pullout sleeper chair is available in each medical/surgical room for the accommodation of an overnight guest. The second floor family waiting room has various amenities, including a television, sink and refrigerator.
Hearing Impaired Services
Telecommunication devices for the hearing impaired are maintained in the Emergency Department.
Interpreters
Interpreters are available through AT&T translation services.
Health Information Management
Health Information Management (Medical Records) and transcription services are located on the first floor of the Medical Office Building across from Café 101. This is the central location for all medical records.
Patient Rooms
Patient rooms have a cheerful, pleasing, and homelike setting for patient care. Natural lighting was incorporated into the room design whenever possible.
Each non-critical care patient room is equipped with a footwall cabinet that incorporates a wardrobe, TV/VCR, and a writing surface.
Each room has a patient headwall unit containing oxygen, vacuum, and medical air outlets, emergency and normal electrical power, multilevel lighting over the bed and communications for the nurse call and the telephone system.
Accessories include a clock and calendar, bedside table, phone, a patient chair with arms and a pullout chair for family staying overnight.
Television Services
Each patient has a television and VCR. Video checkout for patients is available from the volunteers.
Visiting
Patients may receive guests throughout the day. Out of consideration for other patients, guests are encouraged to leave by 9 p.m. unless arrangements have been made to stay the night.
